Happy New Year - just don't go mad with the changes, says Cream's Artistic Director Dean Brindley.

It seems at this early point in every new year, everyone starts talking about the cliched New Year, New You thing.
And 2017, it appears, is no exception. It’s all anyone’s talking about in our salons – and that includes our staff.

I have no qualms about that at all – hair, fashion and lifestyle updates are great, especially when the January days are so dull. And let’s face it, we could all do with looking after ourselves more and leading a healthier lifestyle after the Christmas and New Year party season. But when it comes to your hair, I don’t necessarily believe a big change in your look is needed to make a real impact.

Take the 2016 much-loved lob – a collarbone-skimming beauty that can be instantly changed with some fresh bangs. In fact, fringes are a great way of updating any style, whether it be an above-the-eyebrow statement (make sure your brows are looking sharp), a boyish, longer, sweeping, textured fringe, or simply a traditional softer fringe.

So if you are looking for an update but don’t really want a complete overhaul, a good set of bangs may be just the answer.
