Happy New Year...

Well what a year it’s been… 2015 has been a fantastic year for cream. Our Cheltenham and Gloucester teams have worked tirelessly making our client look and feel fabulous with beautiful hair day after day. We’ve had amazing times in 2015 with our salons going from strength to strength with new recruits, amazing accolades of being crowned Hairdressers Journal ‘Barber of the Year’, Hairdressers Journal front cover stars, Schwarzkopf ‘Inspire UK Ambassadors’ and Schwarzkopf ‘Brand Guardians’…

Oh What a Night...

Last Monday London was overtaken by the hairdressing glitterati in full fabulous force. The night in question is the hairdressing equivalent to the oscars… Every year the best in the business wait with bated breath as to which one of them walk away with the converted title of regional British Hairdresser of the Year, Colourist of the year, Artistic team, Afro hairdresser, and of course the crowning of overall British Hairdresser Of The Year. Hundreds and thousands of hairdressers compete for their title by submitting a collection of created images to win a place in the final. It truly is the most inspirational night of the year for the hairdressing world and cream were there to enjoy the awards…

Cream have been proud partners with Schwarzkopf Professional for many many years, and not only do we use their amazing products, and colour ranges, we have worked on many photo shoots, fashion shows, and press events for them. Back in the summer I was asked to participate in an exciting project for them. Schwarzkopf’s global ambassadors create two amazing collections a year named Essential Looks. Essential looks is a hair bible for all Schwarzkopf salons across the globe and we use the imagery and step by step guides for our inspiration and creating hot new cut and coloured looks using the emerging trends forecasted by their ambassadors Tyler Johnston and Lesley Jennison.

I wrote about this trend last year but grey hair shows no sign of of slowing down as the surprise must-have cult hair colour of 2015… Over the last few months we have been in-undated with requests in the salon for steely shades and certain celebrities Rihanna, Perrie Edwards and Kylie Jenner have all experimented with grey locks in the last few months. The hashtag #grannytrend has taken social media by storm and even made headlines as women across the globe decide that going grey early isn’t quite so bad after all…
