It's all about the J' ne sais quoi...

It's all about the J' ne sais quoi...

It's all about the J' ne sais quoi...

With three huge recent red carpet events just taken place, the fashion world has had the eyes on the prize and lists the best, worst and darn right crazy looks form the New York Met Ball, The Cannes Film Festival and the Ralph Lauren Gala…

Kicking off proceedings in New York was the fashion institute Met Ball held in honour of the metropolitan fashion exhibition every year, and with strictly VIP invite only the guest list is a stellar line up of Hollywood A-list names and the infamous red carpet walk is where fashion stands up and takes note!! This years fashion hits were Beyonce, (although it was Solange her sister that every one was talking about that night!!) Rita Ora, and Rihanna all rocking the red carpet in one of a kind couture gowns, custom made to ensure the looks complimented every superstar perfectly, then with the Met over for another year all the A-list fled to the South of France for the 67th Cannes Film Festival. Every year practically all of Hollywood descends on the French Riviera and uber-glamour was the buzz word for this years red carpet. Blake Lively in in Chanel Couture, Nicole Kidman in Gucci, Cate Blanchett in Valentino and Kendall Jenner in Givenchy all looked breathtakingly beautiful and celebrated all that’s great and good in the world of film. So after a whirlwind French visit the glitterati were back in the UK at Windsor Castle with Kate Moss, Emma Watson, Cara Delevigne and Prince William to honour fashion royalty Ralph Lauren, the quintessentially British do drew the cream of London society to the glitzy charity dinner and of course everyone wore Ralph Lauren…

So with all these amazing red carpet looks we can take note on the stunning designs and transfer them to our summer wardrobe. Think classic structured tailoring teamed with sleek accessories, colour pallets of iced greys, silvers and nude and silk luxe fabrics the summer go to for instant glamour and that touch of Cannes j’ ne sais quoi! Keep make up simple with dewy skin, a killer smoky eye and a nude lip and hair should be sexily tousled with minimal product, or piled into a mussed up chignon for that effortless chic vibe that Cannes and Ralph Lauren have shown us…
