Lather, rinse, repeat?

Lather, rinse, repeat?

Lather, rinse, repeat?

Hair washing is a bit like marmite- everyone has a very strong opinion on how often hair should be washed. While there are legions of women who swear by their daily lather, rinse and repeat, plenty of others believe their hair is in better condition when they cut down on washing it or instead, go for a ‘co-wash’ (where they wash their hair with just conditioner).

The glitterati of A-list celebrities have brought this subject to the forefront recently and it seems our favourite celebs are big fans of the infrequent wash…

Amanda Seyfried recently revealed that she only lathers up once a week, relying on dry shampoo the rest of the time as she prefers to preserve her natural hairs oil and gives her blow dry that lived in texture. Kim Kardashian shampoos every five days and prefers to opt for a salon blow dry then letting it drop into a more ruffled, sexier look as the week goes on… Jennifer Aniston favoured not washing her hair for two days before this years golden globes as it helps create a more voluminous look…

So taking into account all these celeb lather tales we here at cream think “Generally speaking many people wash their hair too much. Natural oils are essential for nourishing and conditioning the hair and scalp, so if your excessively washing these away it could lead to more problems long term”…

We recommend any of our clients to have an in-depth complimentary consultation with our highly trained shampoo technicians on the simple questions of how often? With what product? And Why? when it comes to shampooing their hair and remember all our vast range of luxury, bespoke Schwarzkopf shampoos, conditioners, treatments and masques available for in salon use and take home prescription…

So whether you opt for a five day stretch like Kim K or your a once a day lather, rinse, repeat kinda person we say each to their own just remember we’re here to help with that all important wash ritual…
