On a very cold Monday evening last week, 2,000 beautiful people descended on the uber-luxurious, five-star Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane. Why? They were in town for the world’s greatest hair event – the British Hairdressing Awards.

The night celebrates the very best in British hairdressing, recognising and rewarding the creative talents of teams and individuals working in the most exciting industry in the world.

Salon owners, stylists and colourists come from across the globe to see this incredible showcase, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional and Hairdressers Journal.

With amazing hair and wearing stunning gowns and super-sharp tuxedos, the cream of the crop descended on the Grosvenor – and there were none more gorgeous than our Cream girls Selina, Kelly and Aimee.
Guests sat down for dinner at 7.15pm, before the awards ceremony started at 9pm.

Sixteen coveted awards were handed out on the night by our hilarious host, actor, author and comedian David Walliams.

Gongs went to the avant garde hairdresser of the year; artistic team of the year and colours technician of the year, among many, many others. But the night truly belonged to my hair hero Angelo Seminara.

Huge congratulations must go to this man who has won the top honour for the fourth time.
As Cream has won Hairdresser of the Year twice before, we know exactly how much hard work and passion goes into creating the collections, staging the photoshoots and submitting the entries. Hats off to him: it was very, very well-deserved.

After the awards ceremony we were treated to a outstanding performance by X-Factor winner Louisa Johnson, which marked the start of a very fun, albeit slight tipsy after-party.

Only the really hardcore made it to breakfast at 5.30am. All in all, an exciting and fun night was had by all – and it’s really fired us up. We can’t wait to go for that third trophy soon.
