Craving The Crave

Craving The Crave

Craving The Crave

With fashion taking a slightly nostalgic and retro turn this summer and the 80s being a strong influence on the recent fashion weeks’ runways, the models showcased classic 80s-inspired eye shadows and hair. And what springs to mind when thinking of 80s hair? Crimping of course. Crimped hair has a bad reputation, instantly conjuring up thoughts of all things big, frizzy and dry, but think on, for a 2016 modern twist crimping will deliver soft crimped waves which scream part romance, part rock ‘n’ roll.

The clever twist on this new look was spotted all over the Anna Sui spring/summer 16 runway shows and The Crave was born. We’re calling this fresh new look The Crave because it replaces the tightly corrugated crimps of old and replaces them with a subtle crimp and wave = crave. The hottest hair styling accessory is the triple-barrelled waver, which basically is an updated version of the old school crimping plates. The waver offers a wider, more rounded wave pattern in the hair and can be used at any heat setting and on any length hair. So if every day you try desperately to tame frizz rather than create it, then this is a hair epiphany for you. This look creates the perfect, cleaner version of rock chic, the more glamorous textured version of undone and adds instant volume, a sense of fun and masses of movement to even he most lifeless of hair.

Just remember that to re-create this look, hair preparation is the key. Always apply heat protection spray to every section of the hair – Schwarzkopf Flatliner is the only heat protection spray serum that you will ever need – and finishing with a light gloss spray will add soft hold and add the shine factor that old school crimps lacked. Schwarzkopf Sparkler shine spray is the perfect product for this.

So this new look will take all of five minutes, a quick spritz of spray and you’ll be rocking The Crave all summer long…
