This years rainbow/pastel coloured hair trend keeps surprising us with its ability to evolve. Now, we think we’ve hit the peak of the colorful trend with half-and-half hair dye or split-dyed strands. It’s exactly what it sounds like: part your ‘down the middle, then colour each side a different shade for a look that’s half and half and totally on-trend !!
This emerging trend has been spotted on several celebrities already… Lady GaGa, Kesha, Hillary Duff and hoards of Instagram fashionistas are all going crazy for this trend. In its most extreme form this look is not for the faint hearted but it can be tamed and a more subtle touch can be applied… This colour technique works on long or short hair and is great for emphasising volume and texture in the hair.
Hair needs to be of an even, lightened base before hand, then the chosen pastel hues can be applied.. Think candy coloured blush pinks and lavender, sea foam and baby denim blue, peach and muted magenta or if you’re feeling brave iconic ice white and raven black…
