Party Of The Year...

Party Of The Year...

Party Of The Year...

As glitzy as the Oscars but way more stylish, last weeks Met Ball in New York drew a stellar turnout, with actresses and models vying for attention on the museums red carpet covered steps… Every May Vogue editor and fierce fashion aficionado Anna Wintour hosts The Met Ball/Gala. Held at New Yorks Metroplitan Museum, strictly invite only and with a hefty price tag of £25 thousand dollars a ticket only the supreme A-list get a look in…

With the entire world watching every guest making their entrance onto the red carpet covered steps, we wait with baited breath to see the extreme fashion choices that this risqué red carpet has to offer. So here is the best looks from The Met Ball:

Madonna and Katy Perry wore graffiti blasted Moschino gowns, Lady GaGa donned vampish Balenciaga, Karen Elson in an incredible Dolce and Gabbana gown which was shipped to her straight from the Milan runway, Grace Coddington and Sienna Miller rocked a huge summer trend wearing pjs!! (Yes pyjamas are in for evening wear this summer. Think high end silk inspired pyjama tops or palatzo style pants) Cara Delevigne wore a Stella McCartney tuxedo jumpsuit teamed with hand painted cherry blossoms body art onto her arms, making hand painting the new accessory… Forget earnings or a statement clutch it’s all about body art for this supermodel supremo….

With make-up kept classic with strong brows, and statement red lips and hair was either tightly taken back into a wet look ballerina bun or ponytail (wet look is a huge summer hair emerging trend, Schwarzkopf Aqua Slide dressing pomade is the hero product of the hour to help create this) or was left volumised and waved, the famous red carpet was a fashion feast for the eyes….

With all the A-listers partying well into the next morning it was a fashion hurrah… Until next year…
