A certain well know Parisian colour house has just announced its newest UK ambassador – Helen Mirren… She’s the latest 50-plus woman to recently front a major cosmetics campaign, along with Charlotte Rampling (68) and Tilda Swinton (53). Has the beauty industry at last started celebrating age?

69-year-old Helen Mirren the much beloved stage, screen, tv and iconic film actress is the new face of mature beauty and a role model for women up and down the country not to mention taking the over-50s into centre stage… and that shouldn’t be surprising, considering the beauty market for women in this age bracket is estimated to be about £2bn a year and judging by the huge media attention her new ambassador role has created Helen’s now sporting a hugely flattering new look. Her hair has been cut shorter into a bouncing textured bob, she’s lightened it to a brighter blonde, she’s teamed nude lipstick with a smokey eye and The result?… She looks far younger than her 69 years and this is a winning formula!
