Let's Foilyage?

Let's Foilyage?

Let's Foilyage?

So the world over has become huge fans of the balayage colouring trend, sun kissed colour that looks so easy breezy and natural and so easy to maintain. However whilst the balayage technique is amazing for mid-to-dark blondes and lighter brunettes, the technique doesn’t always have the desire effect on darker hair tones, as darker hair is harder to lift to lighter shades successfully.

So let me introduce you too Foilyage! A new method of highlighting that combines the subtle, freehand technique of balayage with the colour intensity of traditional foil highlights. Foilyage colour is still painted on by hand, but each section is then encased in foil to amplify the colour lift and intensity. The end effect is still super natural, with the colour placement becoming more vibrant as it moves from roots to ends. Foilyage fans are Miranda Kerr and the newly sun kissed Khloé Kardashian. So to get technical for a minute Foilyage is great for naturally darker haired clients who want to be significantly lighter and with the help from the foil sealing in the heat the hair will lighten more successfully. The same tonal palette associated with balayage of deep caramel, bronzes, auburns and soft spun beige golds can be achieved with Foilyage, and if cared for correctly you can even start to build up the lightness as we head towards that new lighter Spring hue.

So Foilyage will be an instant hit for Spring colouring techniques as we all move towards lightening our hair for that fresh summer look….
