The NEW UP...

The NEW UP...

The NEW UP...

So with this years wedding season well and truly over and with us all knowing the low down on this Autumn/Winters newest trends the main focus now is the impending “Party Season Hair”…

So with the office christmas party looming and those cocktail party invites racking up and you already in a quandary as to how to wear your hair, then all you need to know is that “Half Up is THE NEW UP”… Not since Kate Middleton made it her wedding hairstyle of choice back in 2012 has the half up, half down do’ had such a moment. Kate looked undeniably beautiful on her wedding day but her hair was rather on the tame side… So The 2014 catwalk version is you’ll be pleased to hear a lot sassier with a grungy, textural undertone.

It’s not about creating a a half ponytail anymore – the focus now is on pulling the hair off the face and that can be achieved by as little as pinning two short strands of hair back. At the recent House of Holland catwalk collective a simple kirby grip held hair back off the face to great effect, and also seen at the Etro collective the long haired lovelies modelled a twisted rope or fishtail plait to add interest and definition to the new half up!! So whatever length of hair you have this look can be easily achieved, start with a great blow dry (add as much body and texture as possible) then simply add a slight wave or curl, flick or kick and opt for a fashion forward half up pinned back look or go for a more demure sexy tousled Bridgette Bardot inspired mussy half beehive…

All super easy to achieve and leaving you ready to dance the night away into this exciting party season and just remember “Half Up is THE NEW UP”
