Ready too Freelight??

Ready too Freelight??

Ready too Freelight??

This last eighteen months has sent the hairdressing world into a spin with all the new and exciting colouring techniques around… From Balayage to ombré, flashlights to root smudge, now there is a new technique in town, so move over Balayage and say hello to Freelighting…

This latest trend straight from the salons of Los Angeles is also done freehand without foils and can lighten your locks by up to seven shades and the end result is a mane of colour that looks like you’ve been lazing on the beach for three months, soft, sexy and ultra bright with the luminosity that you normally achieve with only the classic foil highlight technique…

Here comes the technical bit… So where as Balayage/Ombré relies on stronger, darker root colours and either an extreme lightening process on the mid lengths and ends or bolder bleached sections, Freelighting is taken closer to your root area allowing more lightening to take place and the choice of introducing more shades and tones instead of the two tone shades normally used in ombré etc… Freelighting is great for updating your existing summer colour and it will be a fresh approach moving into autumnal looks…

Think warmer deeper sand tones, bronzed hues and the palest cafe au làit flashes all carefully placed and with the slightest of freehand techniques woven into your hair. Works great on long layered looks, sharp graphic bobs and even middy crops and with super A-list starlet Blake Lively being a Freelighting fan everyone else will be quick to follow…
